Cebuanos Mactan-Cebu International Airport will undergo a facelift procedure. By 2018, expect to see the first resort-airport in the world.
MCIA is supposed to accommodate only 4.5 million passengers a year for both international and domestic flights, but from 2011, it already accepts 6.2 million passengers annually. This makes MCIA the second busiest airport in the Philippines.
Now, the airport will be rehabilitated and turned into a world-class terminal to accommodate the increasing number of passengers.

When finished, it will be the first resort-airport in the world! “The airport terminals will reflect the rich Cebuano heritage in a state of the art design with a soothing resort-like atmosphere conceptualized by international and Cebuano designers,” said Megawide spokesman Louie Ferrer.
