We all know that aside from call centers and other commercial offices, Cebu’s Asiatown IT Park has a wide range of restaurants, and one of the must-try dining spots here is the Chibori Shabu Shabu & Sushi Bar.
This restaurant has a nice exterior layout that comes with a wooden signage accentuated with some greenery, and the first thing that you will see inside is that long Japanese table set-up that is common in lots of Japanese restaurants.
Further inside, there’s a sushi bar that has dim lights and tables.
Chibori has an array of Japanese dishes in their menu, including sushi and shabu shabu, and I personally recommend the Chicken Teriyaki and Yakiniku Don. The food’s prices, on the other hand, are actually quite reasonable considering that Chibori looks like one of those fine Japanese restaurants (complete with presentable Japanese-speaking staff who are wearing traditional Japanese costumes and an elegant ambiance). Chicken teriyaki, for example, costs 250 pesos and it’s served with a bowl of rice, plus the iced coffee, fruit juices, and most of the drinks range from 100-200 pesos. 350-500 pesos for a complete Japanese meal’s not bad, right? 🙂

Just like other traditional Japanese dining, a hot towel and a bowl of appetizer are served first in the restaurant. (In case you don’t know yet, the hot towel can be used to wipe your hands and your face before eating.) And, aside from the fact that the food tastes great and is affordable, the restaurant has a quick service, too. In less than 15 minutes only, you’ll get to enjoy your Japanese meal in Chibori!
The restaurant has two entrances, and one of them (the door that’s decorated with Japanese-style curtains and has a cute wooden bridge) gives you access to a small, clean pond outside.
Overall, Chibori offers diners aesthetic and gastronomic pleasure with their well-designed restaurant and tasty menu!
