
Located at the Robinland Business Center, Margarita Family Cuisine offers an al fresco dining experience with choices of Chinese and Filipino cuisines on the menu. The restaurant gives the diner a choice of scenic backdrops, the city view or the harbor view.
The restaurant is owned by Edwin Robin, who hails from Badian, Cebu. Robin was previously a bank employee but he has decided to move into the business of agriculture and food. The owner has his own vegetable farm. He also raises his own pigs and chickens. He supplies his own meat for the restaurant and also for canteens in 30 companies in the cities of Lapu-lapu and Cebu, which are under his company called Eight2Eight.
Robin named the restaurant after Margarita Bedico, his grandmother. Margarita’s also caters for special functions and occasions. It boasts of accreditations from the Cebu International Convention Center and the Presidential Security Group.
At the restaurant, diners can choose from a variety of Chinese and Filipino dishes. Chinese options include tenderloin steak Chinese-style, pork spare ribs Kingdao-style, and fish fillet with sweet corn sauce. Dimsum choices are also available, including five variants of the siomai, steamed chicken feet, cabbage rolls, and beef balls. The Filipino options include old favorites such as the crispy pata and pork sisig. Seafood choices include steamed Lapu-lapu with soy sauce, prawns in garlic, mixed sea foods in hot pot, and the trusty calamares.
Diners can also order from set menus, which are good for 6 to 8 persons. The selections include servings of sweet corn with quail egg, lumpia Shanghai, Chinese-style humba with cuapao, fried chicken with crackers, noodles with assorted meat, Taiwanese pechay with garlic, and mango-pandan salad for dessert. There are also seafood set menus, which are good for 4 people. A sample seafood set includes winter melon with dried scallop sauce for appetizers, mixed seafood in hotpot, steamed crabs, steamed Lapu-lapu with ham and egg, Taiwanese pechay with garlic, salted fish fried rice, an assortment of fresh fruits, a round of soda or iced tea. This also comes with a plated meal with ice tea.
The Tequila bar, which is located at the entrance of Margarita’s, serves a lot of beverages. This air-conditioned annex has a capacity of 350 people and is usually reserved for special functions.
Depending on the food and drinks ordered, the price range is from Php200 to Php300 per person.
It is located at the 9th floor of Robinland Business Center, which is at the North Reclamation Area, in Mandaue City, Cebu. It is near Cebu Doctors’ University. The restaurant has ample parking space that can accommodate a couple of buses.
Margarita’s is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. From Sunday to Thursday the restaurant is open at 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, it extends from at 6 p.m. to 12 midnight and features a live band entertainment.
