Dong Juan

For those living near the uptown area in Cebu, Dong Juan is one cozy restaurant to visit and have a delightful meal that is just within your budget.

Dong Juan is located on Emilio Osmeña Street, Guadalupe, Cebu City. Established in December 2008, the restaurant started from humble beginnings.  Dong Juan, which serves a variety of comfort food, is the brainchild of Aubrey Lim Borja and her brother-in-law. Don Juan has been gaining popularity as patronizers of their food keep coming back.

gambas pasta

Among the various pasta dishes on the Dong Juan menu, the Gambas al Ajillo Pasta (Php 129.00) and the Chorizo Pasta stands out. The Gambas Pasta is an al dente spaghetti tossed in garlic and olive oil, topped with perfectly flavored shrimps and sprinkled with herbs. The Chorizo Pasta costs only Php 99.00, which could serve up to two people. However, if you’re in the mood for eating, then the serving might just be good for you.

Its calamares comes with a spicy garlic-honey sauce that sends your taste buds wanting for more. This costs Php 129.00.

Of course, Pizza and Burger meals are still on top of their menus, which were the restaurant’s specialties during its startup. Today, their menu is a fusion of different cuisines.

Dong Juan

Dong Juan has opened their second branch at The Persimmon Plus to accommodate their growing number of customers. Proprietor Aubrey Borja believes that the location of their second branch fits their concept very well – not too commercial or flashy, but classy. She describes their Persimmon branch as a “leveled up” version of their Guadalupe branch.

If ever you’re in Cebu and would want to eat somewhere outside the malls without spending a lot of money, then you should try Dong Juan.

Dong Juan is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
