Celebrate Graduation 2014. In Cebu's Best Restaurants.

After celebrating Valentines, a lot of Cebuano families will then celebrate the graduation of their children, grandchildren, and/or relatives. To make this occasion extra special, consider reserving your lunch or dinner with some of the trusted and well-known restaurants around Cebu.

AA Barbecue

This open-air grill restaurant has always been a Cebuano favorite from the very first day it started simply because it serves some sinfully, undoubtedly tasty Filipino dishes, such as pochero, fried bangus, and grilled seafood. Go to any of their branches in Lahug, Mandaue, Guadalupe, M..J. Cuenco, Lapu-Lapu, Bulacao, and Minglanilla to satisfy your and your family’s gastronomic cravings!

Dong Juan

If spaghetti, pizza, burger, and other comfort food are your thing, then this cozy restaurant in Guadalupe and The Persimmon Plus is definitely a great pick. Don Juan is known for their reasonably prized, delicious food and comfortably designed restaurant – factors that will surely give you and your loved ones a great time while celebrating graduation.

Zubuchon

Since lechon is Cebu’s eternal favorite, this restaurant can be an ideal venue for your family celebration plans. Zubuchon is world renowned because of the positive feedback that it got from the acclaimed food critic, Anthony Bourdain. To taste the “world’s best roasted pig”, visit Zubuchon’s outlets at Mactan International Airport, Escario Street, Capitol Site, One Mango Avenue Building, and Banilad Town Center.

Golden Cowrie

Dubbed as the only restaurant that makes use of banana leaves instead of plates, Golden Cowrie will truly give you a satisfying native dining experience. Some of the specialty dishes that you and your loved ones can enjoy here are calamares, pancit guisado, sinigang baboy, dinuguan, and their ever-famous crispy pata.

La Tegola Cucina Italiana

Lots of patrons exclaim that the best Italian food can be tasted in this restaurant, which can be found in Banilad and 2 other branches. The bruschetta, foccacia, red wine, carbonara, and tiramisu are definitely some of the must-try treats in La Tegola Cucina Italiana.

Chika-An sa Cebu

Another Cebuano favorite that will make you feel like you are eating in a typical old Filipino home is the Chika-an sa Cebu. It is situated in Lahug, Parkmall, SM City Cebu, and SM City Consolacion. You can try their great-tasting Pinoy food by visiting any of their branches or making a reservation through their website (http://www.creativecuisinegourmetgroup.com/chikaan/).

Mooon Cafe

This Mexican-inspired restaurant that conquered the hearts of many Cebuanos will not be able to branch out to several locations if they do not serve good food and satisfy the picky taste buds of Cebu locals. It has more than 5 branches around Cebu, and to know which one is the closest to your area, visit their website at moooncafe.ph.

Captain A’s Seafood Grill

Known for their boodle fight dining experience, Captain A’s has the buffet packages that are perfect for you and your entire family. Have a taste of the restaurant’s 7 types of boodle fight options to spend an unforgettable graduation celebration with the people you love!

Surfin’ Ribs

From the name itself, you could find yourself almost literally “surfing” on the dining table for some tasty ribs as this restaurant brings you a range of juicy and delicious pork ribs! Surfin’ Ribs is open from Monday to Saturday at 11AM until 2PM and 5PM until 10PM.

Pier One Bar and Grill

The interesting facade of this restaurant (which is made up of stacked shipping containers) is one of the many reasons you can find dining here really unique. Another plus factor is its “Palutoan sa Pier One” concept that lets customers choose their food from fresh catches.

Margarita Family Cuisine

Located at the 9th floor of Robinland Business Center, this restaurant offers customers an al fresco dining experience matched with stunning backdrops (as the building is situated in North Reclamation Area that allows a perfect view of the city and Cebu’s harbor). From around 200 to 300 pesos per head, you and your family will have a chance to enjoy a wide range of Chinese and Filipino meals in an elegant venue!

Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant

Scenic view, friendly staff, affordable menu – these are just few of the many things you’ll surely find fascinating in this well-known restaurant. Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant has been frequently talked about by lots of Cebuanos from the very start of its operations because of its unique setting. Don’t you think it would be really interesting to celebrate a special occasion by the wharf and near the sea?

Graduations deserve a special dining experience; so this March, treat yourself and your beloved graduate with the many gastronomically rewarding treats of these restaurants!

Hi Jess! Your post is right on the mark. I’ve tried most of these places and I’d say they really have something great to offer. Although, given that Pinoy graduation celebrations are a family thing, I think AA Barbecue, Captain A’s, Golden Cowrie, and Chika-an are more suitable dining options for such a celebration.

Looking forward to reading more of your posts 😉
