San Fernando is a 2nd class municipality located in the southern part of Cebu, about 28 kilometers away from Cebu City. It’s part of the Metro Cebu, which is the main urban center of the whole province of Cebu. The place has a total of 21 barangays, and these are the following:
- Poblacion North
- San Isidro
- Poblacion South
The municipality was founded in 1858 and has a population of 60,970 people according to the 2010 census. Its main products are cement and poultry products. As of May 2013, San Fernando’s municipal officials are Hon. Antonio L. Canoy (Mayor) and Hon. Miguel Antonio Nadela Canoy (Vice Mayor). This place has a total land area of 26.79 square meters.

Singli Mountain Resort
Another remote and quiet resort found in the municipality is the Singli Mountain Resort, which is specifically nestled at Tongo, San Fernando. This beautiful destination boasts of 2 pools and cottages that range from 300 to 500 pesos. Its entrance fee is 50 pesos for adults and 30 pesos for children. San Fernando is also a host of one of Cebu’s fun festivals, and this annual celebration is called the Sikoy-Sikoy Festival. This festivity comes from the word “sikoy” that refers to the act of net fishing during rough tides. It’s celebrated every November 17-21 to thank God for the gift of love to the locals of San Fernando, and it comes with thanksgiving rituals and petition prayers for protection, guidance, and a bountiful farm and sea harvest.
