Here are the top 10 places you can go to right in the heart of Cebu to get in touch with the “heart” of Cebu:
1.) Casa Gorordo

A 19th-century house, it currently serves as a museum with a shop and a café that serves local delicacies and coffee from Panay. The profit will be utilized for the museum’s social activities.

2.) Heritage of Cebu Monument

Commonly known as the Parian Monument, this sculpture by Eduardo Castillo of cement, iron and steel portrays several key moments in Cebu’s history.
Entrance fee: none but accept donations for the costs in preserving the monument.

3.) Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House

4.) Museo Parian

This originally housed Jesuit missionaries and later on was used as a headquarters for the US Armed Forces in the second World War.

5.) Museo Sugbo

It was once Carcel de Cebu or Provincial Jail of Cebu.
Schedule: Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

6.) Cathedral Museum of Cebu
“As it is the ecclesiastical museum of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu, it showcases religious architecture and artifacts from the region,” as written in a previous article.

7.) University of the Southern Philippines Foundation Rizaliana Museum

Aside from Dr. Jose Rizal’s wardrobe, the museum has an original KKK flag. The museum requires a minimum of 20 people for it to open.

8.) Basilica del Minore Sto. Niño

The church is situated in a compound with the museum and another building where the image of the Sto. Niño is kept.

10.) Rizal Memorial Library and Museum
