This dog blessing is organized by the group Balamban Dog Owners and is in relation to the upcoming annual feast of Saint Francis of Assisi (on October 4) who is also a dog lover and considered as the patron saint of animals. The event will be open to the public, including to all dog owners in Cebu (whether from Balamban or not) who wish to have their pets blessed. Before the blessing, there will be a holy mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, and after the blessing, a meeting among all dog owners will take place to discuss the planned Fun Walk and other future activities of the group. Part of the proceeds of the fun walk and other dog-related events will go to the construction of the church in Balamban.

To get to the venue, you simply have to ride a Balamban-bound v-hire at Citilink Terminal and tell the driver to drop you off at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
