This is the second part of my Bantayan Island invasion. After spending the whole day basking in the cool clear waters of Sugar Beach under the hot summer sun, I needed to cool down. Luckily for me, there is another resort, which is a stone’s throw away from Sugar Beach, where I could get a few beers.
Situated along the long stretch of the white sugary coastlines of Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island, Yooneek has seven air-conditioned rooms with a superb view of the pristine Bantayan waters. Along with a friend, we walked from our room in Sugar Beach, strutted along the coastlines and headed to Yooneek for a few shots.
Initially, I looked around the place and all I saw were foreign nationals. There were Americans on the corner, Europeans on the table beside ours and a couple of Koreans on the other side. And it got me thinking that Yooneek would probably charge higher than the usual price for each bottle of beer. Wrong!
Each bottle of San Mig Light is P35 each. Same goes for San Miguel Pilsen and Red Horse. And for every order of brewskis, peanuts were on the house. Food was also priced just right. At around P200 for the both of us, we had our fill with its large servings.
The place is great. The cool night breeze curiously blows under a star-lit sky, creating an ambience of calm serenity and tranquility. Along with Sugar Beach, Yooneek is a perfect retreat to escape the pressures of daily city life.
Yooneek Beach Resort shares the same view as Sugar Beach because both are situated on the same side of the island, and shares the same perfect view during sunrise and sunset. So whenever you are in the vicinity, stop by Yooneek Beach Resort.
