Enjoy watching the popular musical TV show Glee?

Then you might want to catch the battle of the best choirs in our very own Cebu. SM City Cebu will hold a Glee Show Choir Showdown on August 22, 2010 at 4pm at the mall’s Event Centre.

The Glee Show Choir Showdown competition is open to any high school and college pop chorale groups comprised of six to twelve members, aged 14 to 19 years old.

Interested choir groups can get their application form at SM City Cebu’s Mall Administration office. For all songbirds out there, don’t miss out on this chance to shine and let your voices be heard. SM City Cebu is currently accepting applicants until August 20, 2010 at 1pm.

Each choir’s performance must come with an accompaniment of minus one CD. Live instruments are prohibited. Judging criteria includes vocal quality, showmanship, musicality, audience impact, and costume.

The competition is inspired from the critically acclaimed musical comedy-drama television hit series Glee, which airs on FOX in the United States. The series features numerous song covers performed by the William McKinley High School glee club “New Directions.”

Last year, 25 songs from the show landed on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including the cast’s cover of the Journey song “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
