Is your world-explorer self bummed by the rain? Don’t be! Sure there are downsides to it like you can’t go out as much as you’d like to. But didn’t anyone ever tell you that the grass is greener and the air is fresher after the rain? Here are tips to make the most out of your rainy season travels!
1.) Watch out for deals!
The rainy season is also the season for the best deals. Check out the different airlines, hotels and travel tours to get the best deals. This is the time of year that favors those who travel on a budget.
2.) Check the weather forecasts.
The weather isn’t predictable but better to do some preparing and planning. The rain will definitely hamper getting around as well as stop you from seeing the best sights. Best to plan around the anticipated rain.
3.) Pack accordingly.
Like we said, weather is most unpredictable during this time. Weather forecasts help but aren’t 100% right so best to pack things you need that will make your travel easier. Prioritize low maintenance clothes. Think quick-dry and wrinkle-free. Make sure your bag and gadgets are water-resistant and don’t forget to include jackets.
4.) Enjoy the indoors.
Visit local historical sites and really get to know Cebu from the inside out. When you know the history of the place, you’ll get to understand the present even more. It won’t just be the air that’s fresher after the rain but you’ll be able to see the province from a fresh point-of-view as well.
5.) Allot extra travel time.
Cars would have to drive slower to stay safe and then there’s the possibility of flood water. Research on the severity of floods in the different areas where you’re headed. That way, you know what places to avoid walking around and prevent the chances of getting stuck there during heavy rains.
