St. Theresa’s College – Cebu

STC logo

St. Theresa’s College, which is popularly known as STC, is a sectarian and exclusive school for girls in the Philippines. There are currently two campuses: (1) St. Theresa’s College Cebu, which is also known as STC Cebu, located at Don Ramon Aboitiz Street, Cebu City; and (2) St. Theresa’s College Quezon City, also known as STC QC, which is located at 116 D. Tuazon Avenue, in Quezon City.

The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM), upon invitation by then Archbishop of Cebu, Monsignor Gabriel Reyes, founded St. Theresa’s College –Cebu in 1933. It was established 14 years after STC QC was founded in 1947.

The Theresians, a term that refers to the students of STC, benefit from an educational program that is based on the life and works of the Foundress of the ICM, Mother Marie Louise De Meester. The term comes from the name of the school’s patroness, who is also the first woman doctor of the Church, St. Teresa de Avila.

STC offers pre-elementary (kindergarten) education and basic education (elementary and secondary levels). Its grade school is composed of seven grade levels, while the high school is composed of four year levels.

The college offers degrees in Liberal Arts, Education, Social Work, and Management and Accountancy. Its baccalaureate degrees include BA Communication, BA/BS Psychology, BSE, BEEd, BS Social Work, BS Accountancy, and BS Business Management. It also offers a Certificate of Proficiency in Education for students who want to qualify for the Licensure Examination for Teachers in the Pre-School, Elementary, and Secondary Levels.

STC Cebu is a charter member of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities and a member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines.

The school’s Web site, www.stccebu.edu.ph, is currently unavailable. For more information regarding STC Cebu, visit the school at Juana Osmeña St., Cebu City. The main gate is located on General Maxilom Ave. but you can also access the school through the Redemptorist Road and Ramon Aboitiz St. You can also contact them at (032) 253-6337.

Malyn, STC does offer mass communication. Please refer to the contact information given in Everything Cebu’s article about the school so that you can directly get in touch, since Everything Cebu is not connected with STC.
