
Established in 1915, Cebu Eastern College (CEC) is a private nonsectarian Filipino-Chinese school that admits male and female students. From 1915 to 1961, it was known as Cebu Chinese School then merged with Sun Yat Sen High School to form CEC. It is situated at the corner of Leon Kilat and Dimas-alang Streets in Cebu City. This campus offers kindergarten, elementary, high school, and college classes, including a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. A smaller campus on D. Jakosalem offers elementary classes only.
The school offers Chinese classes as well as subjects in English and Tagalog, and it is a CHED-certified institution of higher education. The school is a participant in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) basketball league, and four of its key players from the 2010 juniors division went on to start a UAAP career with the University of the East.
