Looks like Cebu is going to miss another mobile app craze as the ultimately popular game Flappy Bird is gone for good. This bad news has been brought to the public's attention through a series of tweets from the game's developer, Dong Nguyen, saying “I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore” and “It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.” Nguyen also exclaimed that the game has ruined his simple life and that he now hates it.
This reminds me of how doooooown I felt when I realized that Tetris Modern Version 2014 was no longer available in Android's Play Store. Sure, there were a lot of similar games that I could choose to download but I still believed those alternatives would not give me the same gaming satisfaction! But, come on, let's be a bit positive on the fact that Flappy Bird has been officially removed from the App Store and is likely to be removed from Google Play as well. You may continue playing with it if it is still on your smartphone. And, even if you accidentally delete the app, you could opt to buy a new phone with a Flabby Bird application on eBay just like the recent auction that is said to near $100,000! Aside from considering this solution, you could simply settle with other apps that may not exactly look like Flappy Bird but will still give you a non-stop screen-tapping experience. Here are some of the top gaming alternatives:
Ironpants – The bird here has transformed into a caped superhero.
Clumsy Bird – It looks like another version of the red bird from Angry Birds.
Flappy Wings – This can be easily found on and downloaded through Android, thanks to its name that brilliantly riddles with Flappy Bird.
Flappy Bee – The game is pretty much the same but you will be playing with a cute bee and some nicer graphics.
So, there you have it. You need not mourn over the loss of Flappy Bird, actually, since you have a lot of other options to start tapping on. Now, rest in peace, you tiny orange bird. Just like in my previous post , people won't surely stop talking about you...at least this year.
