The contract has been signed. Dusit International, a hotel umbrella company that has been expanding aggressively in Asia, is set to expand to Cebu! The company boasts of bringing the Thai culture and, most importantly, world-class hospitality to different parts of the world.
At the contract signing at City Sports Club, Cebu Business Park, Group Director for Development, Dusit International, Rustom Vickers shared, “We are excited to grow our presence in the Philippines to include picturesque Cebu. With its position as a key gateway to Southern Philippines, strong corporate demand and myriad tourist attractions, the island is currently seeing a boom of development. We are thrilled to cater to the island’s growing demand alongside Grand Land, Inc., and we look forward to bringing Dusit’s brand of gracious hospitality to the city together.”
In partnership with Grand Land, Inc., the international hotel brand launched the construction of a Dusit Princess, one of their hotel chains featuring 295 rooms. This line is slightly different at it’s designed to adopt more of the local culture of the place where it’s located, unlike their forefront brand. This makes each Dusit Princess distinct from each other but without breaking from their Thai culture which is the core of Dusit. It’s also simpler, catering to “the no-nonsense traveller who appreciates value and practicality,” as they said on their website. To stand in the North Reclamation Area, the Dusit Princess in Cebu will have both city and ocean views. Amenities are kept simple – meeting rooms, swimming pools, a gym and restaurants.Three words are used to define the Princess – welcoming, efficient, affordable.
Though they have just entered the hospitality industry of Cebu, they’re no stranger to the Philippines. A Dusit Thani, another of the brands under their umbrella, has been operating for 20 years in Makati City, Manila.
