The Conjuring gave us a glimpse of Annabelle but her story is just so worth telling that she deserves her own self-titled movie, Annabelle, a spin off to delve into her secrets.
Annabelle and The Conjuring opens with the same scene – Ed and Lorraine Warrens, paranormal investigators, talking to a young man and two young women. From there, the story flashes back to 1967 where a family, who previously owned Annabelle, was haunted by the demonic doll.
The bogeyman is not the only monster that's ready to pull you out of bed. Babadook, a horrifying shadowman from the old children book is brought to life in this latest horror film.
Mister Babadook creates fear by putting you on the edge of sanity, making you gasp in every turn of the camera. After watching this, you'll be confused of reality and fantasy just like Amelia and her son.
No, this is not about a mermaid killing people. Starred by Sarah Snook, Jessabelle revolves around this female character who retreats to her childhood home in Louisiana only to find a long-tormented spirit waiting for her return. Scheduled to release on November 7, this horror thriller should keep your hands away from old things.
5. The Quiet Ones
Hold your breath and find your greatest nightmares in this horror film that attempts to transform non-believers to believers of supernatural phenomena.
Coupland, a college professor, believes that ghosts and whatnot do not exist. He and his two students were determined to prove this by filming their experimentation, with an invited cameraman named Brian. During their covert experimentation on Jane, a young woman that generates strange occurrences, Jane's negative energy formed “Evey”, a creature that only Jane can see. One event led to the next until they uncovered the lady's frightening past, but too late.
