We’ve been there. We’ve been to the point where opening social networking sites like Facebook is no longer enough to satisfy our need for entertainment. What else to do, you say? Guess what, a few bored Cebuano netizens made these brilliant pages.
1. School Confessions
When the Facebook page, Carolinian Confessions emerged, students from different schools formed their own. These pages posting confessions of anonymous students became a hit until their popularity died down in the first few months of 2014.
Confessions were mostly about relationships, family, school and whatnot.
2. Banat Bisaya and others
Cebuanos loved the funny and cheesy pick up lines from Tagalog movies and sitcoms that they made their own…in Bisaya. Of course, who would not enjoy a witty and amusing expression of love and hate?
Here’s one: E-unfriend takas Facebook crush… kay di ko gusto nga FRIENDS rata kutob.
3. Cebu Best Vines
Don’t you think Cebuanos are fun-loving creatures that they really enjoy anything that can make them laugh their hearts out? Well, inspired by the American’s brainchild of a funny video that’s 20-minute or so, Cebuanos once again made this existing fad almost twice as popular.
4. Bisaya Memes and others
Wikipedia defines internet meme as “an activity, concept, catchphrase or piece of media which spreads, often as mimicry, from person to person via the Internet.” Although this is another borrowed concept, some of the memes from Cebuano-managed pages are taken by administrators themselves.
