Conventions, meetings and large-group events are considered the tourism industry’s most lucrative market. According to foreign experts, the Philippines’ advantages as an MICE include the warmth and hospitality of its people, which further highlight our country’s already attractive tourist destinations. I&MI Media’s Managing Director Bill LaViolette stated that the Philippines can benefit from more aggressive Internet promotions of destinations such as Cebu.
In 1993 and in 1998, Cebu hosted the Philippine Incentive Marketing Conference, a similar event to the MICE Con. The Philippines, according to Corbin Ball of Corbin Ball Associates, USA, the Philippines is blessed with the infrastructure and the hospitality, which can easily give it the advantage of being considered as the most strategic location globally.
