Happy first week of May, Cebu! How’s your summer so far? Most importantly, how did you spend your May 1 holiday or Labor Day off last week? Well, as for us, we took advantage of the no-work Thursday to enjoy the summer heat in one of Toledo’s pride, The Ranch Resort and Farm!
At around 8 am last May 1, we went to the Citilink Terminal to take a v-hire on our way to Toledo. The trip took us an hour or so, and when we reached Toledo proper, we bought food and drinks so we could eat lunch before going to the resort (The Ranch does not allow bringing in food and drinks since they have a restaurant where you can buy all the meals or snacks and drinks that you may need). It was exactly high noon when we took off for The Ranch via a tricycle and finally set foot on the famous resort after around 15 minutes. We then wasted no time at all and directly changed into our swimwear to have a taste of their enticing pools and remedy the noon heat that was evident on our sweating faces!
Aside from the child and adult-friendly pools, which are around 5 I believe, the resort also features a range of outdoor facilities to cater to the adventure needs of their guests. Some of us went to their vast farm to try the horseback riding and biking. There were also a trampoline and a rope course where both young and old can enjoyably take pictures with and play around at a reasonable rate.
Since we didn’t have any food with us, we kept ourselves busy taking so many pictures of the resort’s colorful swimming pools! The pools are really major factors that set this Toledo resort apart from the rest of the resorts in Cebu; they come in a variety of sizes and forms and designs, making sure that guests of all ages really find the kind of summer fun they’re looking for. There are slides that are beautifully landscaped and totally safe for children since they’re installed on a 3-feet pool. Two of the pools also contain fountains and other fun features that kids can play with and adults can easily make use of to take wonderful photos! And, we did just that. 😀
Those who have been to The Ranch before and told us about it were indeed telling the truth; you will certainly find lots of ways to enjoy the 5-hectare resort no matter who you are with or what your itinerary is! The many pools and the vast farm and the adventure facilities and the sophisticated restaurant are perfect for family gatherings, barkada reunions, summer trips, weekend getaways, day tours, team buildings, overnight plans, and romantic escapades!
Speaking of their sophisticated restaurant, the buffet looked really delicious, and it was unfortunate for us not to be able to try eating there; however, 2 of our companions managed to order food for lunch, and I must say they have really amiable services. One of the polite and smiling waiters even delivered the food right to our cottage. Their lumpia and grilled pork belly tasted good! Also, the owner was so generous to let us taste their special halo-halo for free! Too bad we didn’t get his name, but THANK YOU, sir! =)
At 5 o’clock in the afternoon, we then decided to go to the shower and change so we could reach Toledo Terminal and take a v-hire back to the city before 6 PM. Thanks to the cooperative weather and the wide range of tricycles waiting outside the resort, we easily reached the terminal before it went too dark.
So, how much did we spend for that trip? Here’s a breakdown:
