To launch the new everythingcebu.com website, our team decided to conduct a photo shoot in one of Cebu’s cream of the crop when it comes to beach resorts, the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort in Lapu-Lapu! Let this post share our fun experience there with you, our dear readers. =)
The Sumptuous Buffet at Allegro Restaurant
Last June 13, Bluewater Maribago was kind enough to grant us a photo shoot in their beautiful resort. We arrived there at around 1:00 in the afternoon, and thanks to Sir Erik Monsanto, their Marketing personnel who also served as our main contact person, we were able to have a taste of their delicious buffet in Allegro Restaurant! The buffet included adobo rice, lechon baboy, corduroy chicken, fish fillet, pizza, cakes, fresh salads, breads, and even ice cream (see more of Allegro Restaurant’s food highlights here). Their desserts were SO good and their fresh juices tasted perfect for a hot afternoon! A buffet lunch or dinner in Allegro costs P1,000 during weekdays and P1,200 during weekends. Other restaurants found in the resort are The Cove, Oyster Bar, Molto Italiano, and the Amuma Spa Cafe & Juice Bar.
Bluewater’s White-Sand Private Island
After the sumptuous meal in Allegro, we were then led by Sir Erik to their white-sand beach, called the Cove Beachfront, to go to our photo shoot location, Bluewater’s very own 1.1-hectare private island. We reached the island via a paddle boat, but since it’s just 65 meters away from the resort’s beachfront (and it was low tide when we went there), some of the guests were simply swimming and even leisurely walking to and from the white-sand island. Their private island is filled with palm and cabanas, nipa cottages, and lounge seats where guests can comfortably relax and chill in. It also has two big function areas for wedding receptions and other events. For large occasions, Bluewater Private Island can cater up to 1,300 guests. Wearing our everythingcebu shirts, the team took pictures of the white sand, the function areas, and the big rock found on the left side of the island. The air there was so fresh and cool that we forgot how hot that day was. Here’s some proof:
The Tour Around the Resort’s High-End Rooms and Facilities
Then, we were brought back to the resort’s main beachfront with the help of their engine-powered boats, which are mainly used when bringing a huge number of guests (especially during parties and other events) from the beachfront to the private island. We were welcomed by Ms Ja who gave us a tour of all the rooms and facilities found in Maribago, including their brand new Royal Bungalow that costs P20,000 per night. This room is good for 4 people and is equipped with modern furniture and amenities, such as the bathtub and 2 al fresco bathrooms. It also has a spacious living room, a beautifully designed bedroom, and an elegant veranda that’s overlooking the Cove Beachfront and the Private Island.
The tour led us to the deluxe and premier deluxe rooms as well as the 2 swimming pools that are exclusive for in-house guests. Bluewater actually has 3 swimming pools, but only one is intended for the day-tour guests. All of their rooms are fully air conditioned and complete with the right amenities, like a mini bar, a cable TV, a shower and bathtub, a private veranda, and a coffee/tea service. Apart from the modern amenities, the resort’s rooms are surrounded by trees, giving the surroundings a naturally cool temperature! Bluewater Maribago indeed knows how to combine nature and a modern holiday living. To further accentuate the elegance and natural beauty of the place, the resort also installed several saltwater ponds, called Marine Wildlife Lagoons, that have really nice landscapes and various fish species. Their main lagoon, which is found near the lobby, even comes with 2 black tip reef sharks, and guests can leisurely feed them daily at 4:00 PM.
They also have golf cars to offer transportation convenience for all guests wanting to tour the resort. Furthermore, the resort has a Dolpo Kids Club where children from 4-12 years old can register and be exclusive members for one whole year, entitling 2 adult companions of a free day use of the resort’s swimming facilities! The kiddie playroom where Dolpo Kids Club members play and mingle with other children also comes with a boutique/gift shop where guests can buy souvenirs and find essentials for their holiday relaxation and recreation.
The Amuma Spa
Bluewater also has the Amuma Building that offers complete relaxation and self-pampering services for all guests. From the name itself (amuma meaning “care” or “pamper”), this facility comes with a relaxing interior that never fails to give guests a high level of comfort. The moment you step in the building’s first floor, you will be welcomed by a perfectly cool temperature and a sweet fragrance to make you forget any stress! Amuma Spa has a spa that offers some superbly relaxing signature therapies (which they call the Amuma Hilot and the Traditional Hilot), a salon that provides different beautification services (including haircut, hand and foot care treatment, waxing, and make-up application), and a gym that lets guests use modern fitness equipment and helps them stay fit even while on a holiday. They also have the Amuma Spa Suite that is perfectly situated near Amuma’s treatment pavilions and offers a relaxing view of the lagoon-style pool and tropical gardens. Aside from the facilities mentioned, the Amuma building comes with an Amuma Spa Cafe & Juice Bar that serves fresh juices and light meals to complement the relaxing services that the spa, gym, and salon have to offer. Finally, they have the Tai Chi pavilion where guests can learn the rejuvenating tai chi exercise and the Filipino martial art, Arnis. This elegantly designed spot is also a perfect place for doing meditations; and after stretching the muscles in your body, you may get total relaxation by taking a dip in the outdoor jacuzzi that’s found near the Amuma building!
The Day-Use Swimming Pool
Before going home, we made sure we would experience one of their beautifully landscaped swimming pools, the main pool that’s for day tour guests’ use. We had a refreshing swim in their 4-feet pool that boasts of an elegant-looking overhead fountain and a range of comfortable lounge seats. Aside from the fact that the pool’s depth is child and non-swimmer friendly, the resort’s main pool is also near the Allegro Restaurant, making it easy for day-use guests to satisfy their gastronomic cravings while enjoying the resort!
Bluewater was also kind enough to let us use their beach towels after swimming; their staff is so accommodating that they were even willing to give us plastic bags for our wet clothes! We left the resort at around 4:00 PM. With a heavy heart and a camera full of pictures, we rode a taxi that was diligently provided by the lobby personnel. For the perfect photo shoot location and the delicious food and the amiable accommodation, the Everything Cebu team is so much grateful for the elegant and beautiful Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort!
