Japanese Film Festival 2011
This August, be prepared for another Japanese invasion. No need to sharpen your bolos though because the 13th Japanese Film Festival 2011 is going to be one entertaining celebration. It will be held from August 2 to August 7, 2011, at Cinema 4 of Ayala Center Cebu.

On August 6 and August 7, a Japanese culture event will be showcased at the 3rd Floor of Ayala Center Cebu’s Active Zone. Everyone is invited to witness the culture event from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is organized by the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers under Japan International Cooperation Agency in the Philippines, and in cooperation with Ayala Center Cebu.
What should you expect from the event? Attendees will be treated to a demonstration of how to dress up in a kimono, specifically a Yukata, which is a summertime type of kimono. The tea ceremony called “Sado” will be demonstrated and the organizers will be serving free Japanese tea. The event will also feature the art of paper folding, commonly known as “Origami,” and the attendees will receive a lesson on how to make their own Origami. Japanese calligraphy, which is called “Syodo,” will be demonstrated and attendees will also be taught how to write their names in Japanese. The chopsticks game, which is popular among the Japanese, will be played following a lesson on how to use chopsticks.
