SLT, as it is fondly called, started out as a simple home-based business in 2010, catering to family and friends. After a few months, they tried selling their homemade desserts via Facebook. What started out as a pastime became a thriving business that owners PJ and Sandra Lee didn’t expect.

The couple who loves eating was overwhelmed with the hit of their online cupcake business. Their biggest break came when they received an order of a cupcake tower for a wedding anniversary. They hesitated at first because they were not sure they could handle the huge order, but they accepted the challenge and took the risk. Their hard work paid off as the customer that was referred to them by a friend got very satisfied. This made them realize that the time to open an actual shop has come.

In November 2011, they opened their first cupcake shop at the J Block, corner Apitong and Escario Streets, Cebu City. The investment of around Php1 million was worth it as dessert lovers came flocking in for their superior quality cupcakes. Since the opening of their shop, their thrice-per-week cupcake production increased to three times a day. As a sign of their continued success, a branch at the Northwing of SM City Cebu opened in July 2012. The entrepreneur couple believes that timing played a vital role in the success of their cupcake endeavor, plus PJ’s business background.

Among the different cupcake shops in the metro, this particular brand definitely stands out. Their delectable cupcakes cost Php50 each and Php290 per half dozen, less expensive yet more delicious than most coffee shop pastries. The more cupcakes you buy, the more discounts you get. Not only do these baked goodies look attractive, they also taste heavenly. Fruit variety cupcake flavors include Cinful Apple, Blueberry Crumble, Lemon Poppyseed, Strawberries n Cream, and Monkey Business. On the other hand, chocoholics will take delight on Cappuccino, Dark Chocolate Mudpie, The Red Velvet, Triple Chocolate, and Cookies n Cream.

With the cupcake craze in Cebu, what makes SLT cupcakes stand out? SLT brags to provide only the finest cupcakes.
