Located at N. Escario Street, alongside Golden Peak Hotel, the newly-opened Surfin’ Ribs looks promising as ever as rave reviews from pleased diners continue to praise their ample selections in the restaurant. They not only serve scrumptious dishes that appeal to anybody’s palate, they come at very affordable prices as well. It looks like this surf ‘n turf spot would soon be dubbed as the new ribs and seafood restaurant in Cebu.
Among the best seller and must-taste specialties in the house is the Pete’s Ribs, which is every meat lover’s dream. The dish comes in two options: Spicy or the Original (served with corn and carrots). This hearty pork ribs is richly seasoned with select spices and slowly grilled until tender and juicy. You will immediately notice the generous serving, with its huge chunk of baby back ribs. Pete’s Ribs cost Php159 with rice and only Php169 with mashed potatoes. The dish was named after the father of owner Sharon Jimenez.
The owners, who are fond of good food, thought it best to introduce various seafood menus into their selections. Moreover, they priced them at very reasonable and affordable rates for every Cebuano to try and taste.
The Shrimps Platter is one seafood dish you ought to taste. A flavorful plate of sweet and saucy shrimps that’s topped with a generous amount of garlic butter sauce has a unique aftertaste that will definitely linger in your mouth. This is a perfect combination for an after-work beer binge. Add to that, it is reasonably priced considering the hefty serving. It costs Php149. The Shrimps Platter was inspired by a recipe of Sharon’s mother.
Another must-try selection in their menu is Bobby J’s Spicy Crab. With their large serving of this dish, every penny is absolutely worth it. The crabs are bathed in garlic, spices and butter. The crab dish, on the other hand, was named after Raymond’s father, Bobby, who shared his crab recipe.
Their heavenly alimango claws (The Claw), which only cost Php120, is a delight for seafood lovers. These hand-picked alimangos are filled with sweet and spicy meat, which are pre-cracked and served in a bucket. Unique, isn’t it?
Of course, a taste of their Chili Wings can spice up your night as you take a bite of their mid-crisp chili wings made delectable with a blend of hot, sweet and spicy flavored sauce. This comes with a blue cheese dip and costs Php130. This chicken special is best paired with beer and ideal for barkada food trips, birthday bash or even an ordinary date with your loved one.
They also serve Crispy Pata, which is perfectly deep fried to bring out the crunchiness outside while keeping the tenderness of the meat inside. Once you have a taste, you’ll surely want for more. This costs Php269.
Sharon’s very own recipe, the Baked Penne, is served hot and fresh out of the oven. It is topped with lots of cream and cheese. It costs Php89.
Everything in menu without doubt tastes good. So what are you waiting for? Be sure to drop by at the restaurant and try their delightful selections. Once you go Surfin’ Ribs, there’s no turning back!

Worst service I ever had. Waited for over an hour for the food to be on our table.tsktsk.. I told the service crew that orders need to be in FIFO (first in – first out basis).. service crew said that our order came along with the Crispy Pata that’s why it took so long to serve. So guys, don’t order them together with the ribs. If your hungry, then just order the rib plate (suggestion). More to that, their Crispy Pata isn’t good. Hard as a rock. Customers who have waited for so long (to be seated) had their orders came in first than us. We waited an hour! The place is too small, when you get there, you have to wait till other customers are done eating. They have reserved tables, even if the customer who made the reservation arrived for so long, they wouldn’t offer you the table. And lastly, the owner of this restaurant came in, & didn’t even manage to supervise, but was only concern of his visitors (not customers).
