Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant: A Walk Through
Are you looking for a place where you can surprise the love of your life with a romantic dinner for two? Would you like to dine under the stars as you gorge on a wide variety of freshly cooked seafood without hopping on a boat to one of Cebu’s smaller islands? Well, look no further. Everything Cebu went to Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant, in Mandaue City, and we’ve got a lot of good stories to tell.
First off, Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant is located at Bridges Town Square. For easier directions, just look for Seamen’s Hospital, in Alang-alang, Mandaue City. The arcade is located across, on the other side of the road. The restaurant is on its right side, beside Pan de Manila.
A tip for motorists: If you’re heading from the downtown area of Cebu City towards Mandaue, the fastest route would be the Reclamation Area, which is not without traffic but with a more manageable travel flow compared to other routes.
The arcade’s façade is laden with a display numerous jars amidst a background of cars in the parking area. Aside from that, the place appears bare and at mid-afternoon would give the impression of a ghost town. But, the atmosphere changes and everything comes to life when the sun has fully set.
Diners at Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant have a number of dining area options.
Once you get inside Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant, you will be welcomed by a very spacious al fresco area. For guests who prefer the open air dining experience, they can choose to dine at the tables with quaint umbrellas, which are located nearest to the lagoon. The beach ambiance, complete with white sand, coconut trees and a saltwater lagoon, is perfect for get-togethers with family and friends. Guests, the kids in particular, enjoy watching the sharks swim wantonly in the lagoon. The sharks are fed at 7:30 pm every day.
Low tables with comfortable orange couches are best for catching up with friends and relatives as you enjoy group favorites such as the Pepper Calamari and the Crispy Pata. When we visited the place, we chose to lounge on the cushioned seats where a group of four would have more than enough space to relax and dine.
Nearest to the bar and the aquariums is the inner al fresco area with wooden tables and chairs. Tip for smokers: If you intend to puff while dining, the al fresco area is the best dining option.
Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant is proud of its Live Seafood Aquariums. Guests can choose from an assortment of fishes, crustaceans and seashells, which the restaurant cooks can prepare in a variety of ways, including grilled, baked or as specified by the customer. If you are a fan of spicy delights, you can ask them to serve their Chili Crabs and Bicol Express extremely hot.
For diners who prefer to eat in a laid-back atmosphere, Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant has air-conditioned dining areas. The entire air-conditioned venue can accommodate approximately 80 people. If we use the partitions, the inner area can be a venue for an intimate gathering of 30 to 50 people.
We were fortunate enough to be able to see the Chef and his line cooks in action during our shoot. We now consider ourselves privy to the magic behind the delightful meals that patrons enjoy at Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant. The sumptuous buffet included an array of seafood plates.
Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant specializes in Filipino and Chinese cuisines. Its bestsellers include Lechon Kawali, Bicol Express, Pata Tim with Fried Bread, and Chili Crab, among others.
The restaurant serves oysters prepared in a variety of ways. You can order oysters fresh, steamed, and baked with lemon butter sauce or with cheese and garlic.

They also serve Diwal, which is unique to Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant. It is the only food place in Cebu where you can order this exotic seafood treat. Diwal, or the Angel Wing clam, is popular in Capiz.
Since we were at Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant on a Friday, we were able to witness its Acoustic Night and we were serenaded by the band, “Three is a Crowd.” The restaurant holds Acoustic Nights from 8 pm to 12 midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Everything Cebu had a grand time at Oyster Bay Seafood Restaurant. It’s time you do, too.
