Kukuk’s Nest Garden Restaurant and Pension House

kukuk Kukuk’s Nest Garden Restaurant and Pension House

The Kukuk’s Nest Garden Restaurant is a very homey, laid-back haven for locals and tourists alike. It is popular among backpackers and local artists and writers.

What makes Kukuk’s Nest stand out? There are interesting local paintings and shell craft on display in the restaurant. It is always invigorating to see these paintings and try to see things through the artist’s perspective. I always love guessing the meaning behind the paintings.

The food is absolutely scrumptious. I must say there are extraordinary meals that are incomparable to any other restaurant in Cebu City. The chicken curry is my absolute favorite. It has a unique, slightly spicy flavor that you’ll definitely go nuts over. Their goat stew is also widely raved about. Their menu combines East and West cuisines with Filipino, German, Indonesian, Thai, and French specialties. The servings are fairly generous and the prices are reasonable.

The restaurant also has a bar where groups of friends can just chill out and enjoy each other’s company. The surrounding plants and trees make your stay even more relaxing and momentarily take you away from the busy, chaotic city life.

Kukuk’s Nest sometimes hosts bands, art exhibits and local independent film screenings. The garden restaurant and bar is open 24/7.

The Kukuk’s Nest Pension House, which is located at the back of the restaurant, consists of two old ancestral houses. It offers simple and budget-friendly accommodations. There are 11 guest rooms available.

Kukuk’s Nest is located at 157 Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines. It is very near the Ayala Center Cebu mall (within walking distance) and IT Park.

For inquiries and reservations, you may contact Kukuk’s Nest at (032) 2315180 or e-mail them at kukuksnestcebu@yahoo.com.

For an immersion in local art and a celebration of good food, find your home in Kukuk’s Nest.

P.S. We opened a new place!!!

Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast is a guest house in a sprawling 2,000 square meter garden. The house used to belong to a wealthy Filipino family in the 70′s and it has retained the charm of that era. Recently converted into a guest house by the owners of Kukuk’s Nest Garden Restaurant and Pension House, it is in an amazing secluded garden setting, but is only a 30-minute ride to the uptown area of Cebu City. It is a place where you truly feel at home even when you are away from home.

Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast is located in the North of Cebu, which is a ten minute ride to the newest restaurant complex of Cebu City in Banilad Town Center and the Crossroads. It offers single rooms and double rooms for travelers who want to stay near the city but wants to feel the countryside ambiance. The guest house is on the main Talamban street but is secluded by its lush garden and age old trees.

Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast is located near the University of San Carlos- Talamban and Cebu’s Family Park is also within walking distance. This means you can also explore the park with its swimming pool, hiking and other facilities. Right beside Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast is the Nasipit Commercial
Complex. Laundry service, spas, restaurants and other commercial
establishments are all within walking distance.

Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast is a spacious guest house that is also home to local Cebuano artists. Art exhibits, performance arts, poetry reading, intimate acoustic nights and creative workshops are regularly held here. It has a cozy dining area, a beer
garden where you can gaze at the stars and the moon, and a mini bar. We serve breakfast, lunch (on request) and dinner. Staying in the city does not mean you can not have the green space and fresh air around you. We make it happen at the Kukuk’s Nest Bed and Breakfast.

On December 11, 2010, renowned visual artist Nunelucio Alvarado will open his one-man exhibit at Kukuk’s Nest (North) Bed and breakfast. Start time will be 6.30pm and it is open to the public. See you there!!!
