Tingle Your Taste Buds at Siomai sa Tisa

siomai

Just like ngohiong, siomai is of Chinese origin, but was recently adapted to become one of Cebu’s trademark foods. Most people crave siomai because they taste good and are very affordable.

There is a perfect place to get these delectable delights where different walks of life and class status converge even at the wee hours of dawn. Located in Tisa, Labangon, Cebu City, this collection of little stalls line up together in a crowded roadside in an effort to sell “Siomai sa Tisa.”

According to most people, this is where the siomai-mania started in Cebu.  Now, siomai stalls are flourishing all over the city.  It’s funny how most of these stalls would bear signage saying they sell the “original Siomai sa Tisa.”  But when you get to taste them, they are far from the “original.”

Siomai sa Tisa has its own distinct flavor. Here’s a suggestion: take a ride heading for Tisa, Labangon, and let your taste buds tingle in delight. Since this is a very well-known roadside stall in Labangon, most taxi or jeepney drivers know this place. You can just tell the driver to drop you off at the Siomai sa Tisa stalls.

The best thing about this place is that they remain open until the wee hours of dawn.  No wonder this is famous, particularly to people who love the nightlife.

Aside from siomai, these stalls also serve “pusó” or hanging rice.  They also offer noodles and pancit canton, as well as refreshments like halo-halo.

Even with just P50 on your pocket, you can have your fill at Siomai sa Tisa.  This is the best place to eat delicious siomai at very affordable prices.

know, the list sounds amoitibus (except for meeting River, lol) but I’ll do my very best to squeeze them in one week. @NasheLOL! How’d you know about Jericho Rosales? He’s cute though but not my type. @ChinkyMelJust in time for Summer. I think short hair is cute but quite hard to maintain once they hit the shoulders (hate it!). Anyway, you can view my wedding-related posts with pics by clicking the ‘wedding tales’ tag/label at the left of my page. Sure, I will post one sample page of the album soon.

    Hi,

I’ll be visiting Cebu for a short break in April. May I know whether the stall is opened everyday? Actually I’ll reach Cebu late at night, so I think I’ll just give it a try on that day… :)

    Thank you!
