A hidden gem. This is how Cafe Geneve’s customers described the resto. True. Though not so easy to locate, this cafe has been getting a lot of excited customers for the past months because of its signature Swiss dishes that you cannot find elsewhere. So, if you’ve heard of this cafe before especially through word of mouth, we’re telling you it’s for a good reason.
Owned by the lovely couple Sebastien Gygli and Windy Gancayco, Cafe de Gene’ve pronounced shuh-neff is named after Sebastien’s place Geneva, Switzerland. The cafe has been operating for a year now. It celebrated its anniversary last November 6.
Being a Swiss restaurant, this can be considered heaven for cheese lovers. If you aren’t, don’t worry because they also serve other international dishes that will not disappoint your palate.
Perhaps, the most amazing thing about Cafe de Geneve is they change their menu every week. The owners try to offer different things so, there’s always something to look forward to every time you visit. They do this to know which dishes appeal to majority of their customers.
The prices are reasonable considering the ingredients used for each dish. Prices for the main courses range from P300 to P350 and sweets cost between P110 to P150.
The owners are also very hands on with their business. While Windy prepares the food, Sebastian accommodates the guests.
Cafe de Geneve serves appetizers, salads, sandwiches, roestis, wine and other drinks. They also have local drinks like Mabolo Rum concocted by Seb himself.
The location of the cafe and its homey mood is a plus point especially for those who want to get away from the crowded city. This can also be a perfect place to chat comfortably with your friends and loved ones especially while sharing one of their best sellers like Cheese fondue and Raclette cheese among others. Unfortunately, the place is not that big and could only accommodate 25 people.
Cafe de Geneve is located in Congressman Noel St. near President Roxas St. Villa Aurora, Kasambagan, Mabolo that’s about five minutes drive from Ayala.
The cafe is open from Monday to Saturday at 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. You may call (032) 412 0748 for reservations.
