Chef Ipar’s culinary expertise assures an authentic Spanish dining experience for its guests. For those who want to start their meals with light appetizers and some drinks, they can stay at the hardwood bar located directly by the entryway for some Tapas. For those who want to be immersed in platefuls of main courses, then the colorful dining area will be the perfect accent to your sumptuous Spanish meals. Once settled, you can engage in long talks and discussions while you wait for the dishes to be served, as they would in lovely España.
According to the Ipar’s Web site, the interiors are a reflection of Chef Ipar’s personality. The decors are themselves part of his life. The works of art are made from authentic parts of railroad tracks and nails that came from their hacienda. You will also find the hardwood tables and a genuine matador’s capa, among others. Chef Ipar will be happy to tell the stories behind these items, unless of course he’s busy at the kitchen.
There are four paellas to choose from, the Paella de Casa, the Paella Marinera, the Paella Negra, and the Paella de Verduras. The Paella de Casa is Ipar’s signature dish. It’s what we would call a feast on a plate! The dish, however, takes an hour to prepare. But, the dish itself is enough to feed a group of 4 to 6 hungry people.
For those who are not in the mood for a full meal, the tapas bar is a great place to hang out. You can have gambas al ajillo with a glass of your favorite cocktail. Plus, you can skip the entrees and head right over to desserts. The restaurant claims to have the best leche flan in town, so you might as well dip those taste buds in there.
