By strict definition, a café is a small restaurant that offers simple meals and drinks, more often than not, coffee and would have an outdoor section extending outside of its enclosed premises. These days, if not the past couple of years, Cebu has seen a good ‘assault’ to the senses with several coffee shops and cafes opening. These days, the regular coffee shops are now being synonymously linked to cafes usually owned by Koreans.
What makes one an interesting café that would entice you to try it out…and possibly, frequent it? Not really being a coffee-lover, it is nice though that one is given an option to choose among different flavored coffee concoctions. You now have several types of tea of varied flavors. Furthermore, you also have a great ambiance that comes with these cafes that are now popularly sprouting all over the metropolis.
This article would probably not delve into what the author thinks is best, because after all, one’s palate is different from the next. While the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee is going to always be that, enticing, some just can’t stomach a too-strong coffee. Some might also want the playful flavor that comes with cappuccino, especially seeing the delightful designs that cafes come up with as they serve you your drink. And yet to others, being able to find that solace that comes with a cute cubicle and being able to type away on their smartphones and tablets would already suffice as the perfect café.
So, let’s list café names and locations so you can be the judge of the best café that you can call as yours! (Click on the name of the cafe to see its location and contact info.)
