Pokemon Go is out in the Philippines! What news to start the week.
Pokemon Go ‘trended’ on social media even before its official launch in the country when Pokemon fanatics expressed excitement over its release. And now that it’s available for free on Google Play store, many are already getting hooked including Cebuanos, young and old alike.
If you still haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, here are some reasons to try this fad once and for all.
1. You don’t need to own a Nintendo 3D’s to play
Unlike the previous Pokemon versions where you have to have a Nintendo DS, or get an emulator, this one’s for almost all smart phone owners that has a gadget that fits the following criteria:
Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
(Android N will not be supported until the official Android release)
Preferred resolution of 720×1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
GPS and Location Services
Intel CPU’s are not supported
The release of the mobile game supports Nintendo’s statement last year that it will no longer ignore the smartphone gaming market.
2. Experience Augmented Reality
It’s as if the Pokemons are everywhere with the game’s augmented reality – a live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real environment. Truly, you’ll believe that the world is being inhabited by Pokemons as you see them appear in different places through your phone.
3. It’ll require you to walk (most of the time)
Unlike the previous Pokemon versions where players follow a single map, Pokemon Go’s map depends on the location of the player, so it’s different for everyone. The game pushes players to search through corners and try new routes in order to capture Pokemons and find Pokestops. And the best part of playing the game according to Pokemon Go players is – You get to exercise while playing.
Now, are you up to the challenge? Well, just make sure you’re in a safe place while playing.
