Founded in 1974, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District has been providing safe and potable drinking water for the residents of its constituent cities and municipalities in the province of Cebu. As a viable utility firm, MCWD is also in charge of managing an effective sewerage system for Cebu.

Its services cover Cebu City, Talisay City, Mandaue City and Lapu-lapu City, and the four municipalities of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, and Liloan.

The company continues to undertake exploration and development activities to preserve and sustain the water resources of Metro Cebu. Among its assets and facilities are the Buhisan Dam, Tisa Filter Plant, Jagobiao Spring facility, 10 wells, Betania reservoir, and D’ Family Park.

D’ Family Park is the first of its kind in the province of Cebu that combines the features of a nature park, a wildlife sanctuary and a botanical research garden.
