MCWD: Potable Water Since 1974

Founded in 1974, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District has been providing safe and potable drinking water for the residents of its constituent cities and municipalities in the province of Cebu. MCWDlogo MCWD: Potable Water Since 1974As a viable utility firm, MCWD is also in-charge of managing an effective sewerage system for Cebu.

Its services cover Cebu City, Talisay City, Mandaue City and Lapulapu City, and the four municipalities of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, and Liloan.

The company continues to undertake exploration and development activities to preserve and sustain the water resources of Metro Cebu. Among its assets and facilities are the Buhisan Dam, Tisa Filter Plant, Jagobiao Spring facility, 10 wells, Betania reservoir, and the Family Park.

D’ Family Park is the first of its kind in the province of Cebu that combines the features of a nature park, a wildlife sanctuary and a botanical research garden.

MCWD is a multi-awarded utility service provider. Among its notable distinctions are Most Outstanding Water District in 1998 and 2000, and Region 7’s Most Outstanding Accredited Agency in the years 2000, 2001 and 2002.
