Delightfully Cebu: All In a Class of Its Own

Cebu: at the center of the country's crossroads (or crosswaters?).

Queen City of the South. The Oldest City in the Philippines. Birthplace of Oriental Christianity. Hardly has there been any other Philippine metropolis that has richer cultural and historical material as that of Cebu City. Throughout the centuries, God has blessed this coastal city with a dizzying cornucopia of historical and natural wonders, from sensational shrines to simmering summers, from crazy carnivals to countless corals. Just remember that when you step ashore on Metro Cebu’s urban grounds, remember to cover your mouth as you will occasionally find it in agape, wide-open mode.

Cebu is an eclectic mix of scattered historical relics, accessible nature escapades, upscale business development, and avant-garde technological enterprises. Littered here and there are huge blocks of real estate populated by foreign and locally-owned companies vying for the world’s attention. Minutes away from the busy urban area are the world-famous tropical beaches of Mactan Island, and the upland resorts of Cebu’s mountainous spine. One wonders how such exotic elements can sleep well with the corporate lifestyle in just one metropolitan area.

There are handfuls of historical landmarks in Cebu, some of them the most significant in Philippine history. Surrounding all of that are tons of renowned restaurants and radically advanced business establishments. The charm of the city lies in that one can zip from the past to the near future in one place.

Exotic food makes its home here. Taste the mesmerizingly delicious lechon skin. Or go to one of the smoky, open-air barbeque eateries that dot the urban landscape. Cebu is sure to perk up your taste buds.

Sprinkled here and there are the buzz and drones of colorful jeepneys that all have a history in itself. Peppered all throughout the metropolis are nightlife events that are replete with musical gigs from local Pinoy bands. Embellished with the joyous Sinulog Festival of mardi-gras proportions, and you’ve got the exuberance and abundance of the Filipino lifestyle embraced in one single spot that is Cebu.

I sincerely hope we have whetted your appetite. Living in the center of Cebu has made us crazy salesmen for the Queen City of the South. We hope you’ll be part of the constant celebration here.
