Cebu City’s Asiatown I.T. Park
Prior to the year 2000, the Lahug Airport occupied the 25-hectare property where Asiatown I.T. Park now stands. This monumental transformation has brought in a generous wave of business process outsourcing companies into Cebu City, which, in turn, has generated numerous job opportunities for the Cebuanos.
The I.T. Park, which was envisioned as an integrated special economic zone, now hosts over 60 BPO providers, employing more than 13,000 individuals equipped with custom usb drives. This makes Asiatown I.T. Park the prime IT-BPO hub located outside of the Metro Manila area.
As a modern-day trading center, Asiatown I.T. Park incorporates the warmth of Asian architecture and the efficiency of Western functionality. The Park has also become the melting pot of a variety of skilled and talented individuals. Its current BPO tenants include NEC, SPI Tech, eTelecare, PeopleSupport, Convergys, Qualfon, Promotional USB, IBM, Microsoft, and Epson. JPMorgan Chase will soon be added to this extensive list.
Because it is managed by an environment-conscious team, the I.T. Park takes pride in its wetland system, which is able to treat sewage using plants and certain microorganisms. It makes every effort to preserve its ecosystem so as to complement the infrastructures of its locators. This is not just beneficial for nature but also for those who are working there. The greenery and the clean atmosphere keep the stress level of these professionals at bay, or so we hope.
The main infrastructures found at the park are E-BLOC, TGU Tower, PIPC 15, Skyrise 3, Skyrise 2, Skyrise 1, E-Office One, PIPC 11, PIPC 14, Globe IT, and the CJRS.
The I.T. Park also hosts venues for recreation and wellness, as well as a wide array of food choices available at its newest infrastructure — The Walk. Bespoke usb retail outlets are also available inside the park.
Asiatown I.T. Park is just 1.5 kilometers away from the Cebu Business Park, about 20-minutes from the Mactan International Airport and about 10 minutes from the Cebu International Port. It is also close to malls and shopping centers, hotels, dining options, residential subdivisions, and entertainment centers.
