Cebu City’s Asiatown I.T. Park

By on December 29, 2009

Prior to the year 2000, the Lahug Airport occupied the 25-hectare property where Asiatown I.T. Park now stands. This monumental transformation has brought in a generous wave of business process outsourcing companies into Cebu City, which, in turn, has generated numerous job opportunities for the Cebuanos.

The I.T. Park, which was envisioned as an integrated special economic zone, now hosts over 60 BPO providers, employing more than 13,000 individuals. This makes Asiatown I.T. Park the prime IT-BPO hub located outside of the Metro Manila area.

As a modern-day trading center, Asiatown I.T. Park incorporates the warmth of Asian architecture and the efficiency of Western functionality. The Park has also become the melting pot of a variety of skilled and talented individuals. Its current BPO tenants include NEC, SPI Tech, eTelecare, PeopleSupport, Convergys, Qualfon, Retail outlets are also available inside the park.

It is also close to malls and shopping centers, hotels, dining options, residential subdivisions, and entertainment centers.

On a visitor’s POV, I fell in love with Cebu IT Park because it’s exactly the type of place where I can work (BPO), play(running), and relax(green wide spaces). In fact, I even made a post of my love with the place here:

    Dear Management,

    Good day!

This is Willamae Goniabo, a secretary of Mr. Takao Uesawa the president of DMM.com a Japanese Company.

I want to ask an advice from your good management about the newest or best building that you can recommend us that’s suitable for BPO business. The said company is looking for the ready to use space (bare) wherein they could start the construction at the earliest.

I am looking forward for your response as soon as possible for us to make an appointment to see the preferred building this 1st or 2nd week of September with the President.

You can also contact me with the details below.

Thank you so much and More Power!
