Gifted with a breathtakingly panoramic view of mountain lushness, JVR Island in the Sky Resort might be an ideal recreational destination for those traveling on a shoestring. This mountain resort is located in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, which can be traversed along the Transcentral Highway.

With the resort practically sitting atop the mountainous portion of Balamban, Cebu, the cool distinct temperature of the atmosphere is likely to be compared to that of Baguio’s. With its high altitude, it is hard to feel the heat of the scorching sun.

For an entrance fee of Php50 for adults and Php25 for children below 10 years old, guests and nature enthusiasts can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities while staying at the mountain resort. Aside from the feeling of being one with nature, you can have an exciting walk by crossing a multicolored hanging bridge that will lead you to another fun-filled outdoor activity.

JVR Island in the Sky Resort boasts of being the first in Cebu to offer adventurers an exhilarating cable car ride. This unique experience is yours to seize for just a minimal fee of Php150. The cable car can accommodate at most six persons at one time. This slow-paced cable car ride takes about 20 minutes and affords the riders to enjoy and appreciate the greenness of nature.

Guests can experience a kicking thrill by trying their zip line for a fee of Php40. The resort has cottages, where families and friends can have a reunion or picnic. For those who wish to have an invigorating splash, a swimming pool is available for use but only on a Sundays. The swimming pool charge is Php50 per head.

If you wish to stay for the night, the resort offers the following accommodations to make your trip worthwhile:

Closed cottages (good for 6 persons) – Php1,500

Closed cottages (good for 14 persons) – Php2,500

   Hi Tom! It’s difficult to compare because it really depends on the pension house. However, we believe that there are a lot of things you can do at JVR Island in the Sky Resort than in a regular pension house. To be sure, please call the numbers posted above.

   I had never heard of the sky resort before. While I am in Cebu I might take a trip up there. The cottage price per night are about the same price as a cebu pension house, are they roughly the same or a little nicer? Is there enough to do there for a few days or staying for 1 night enough?
