Cebu Reggae Festival 2011
Formerly known as the “Bob Marley Festival,” the Cebu Reggae Festival is set to take place from May 11 to May 13, 2011, at the Mountain View Nature’s Park Resort, in Busay, Cebu City.
The festival is an annual two-day event organized by the Harambe Society, Inc., to pay tribute to reggae icon, Bob Marley. This year’s event is themed “Trenchtown Rock, Reggae On Da Mountain,” and is presented by Harambe, Haligi Reggae Foundation, Soundballoon Entertainment, and Mountain View Nature’s Park.
Every day from May 11 to May 13, nyabinghi drums and other tribal sounds will populate the airwaves. Several groups will be in charge of these festivities including Maragtas, Mardigras, Sugbuwanon, Mungkanghan, Lupon, and Percurhythmo with special guest Govinda of Kadangyan. The events will also feature an interfaith open forum, yoga classes at the barn, and fire dancing lessons.
