The Alta Vista Golf and Country Club is a private golf and country club located in Pardo Hills, Cebu City. The club is open to non-members and visitors subject to prior arrangements with the club.

Facilities and Services

The Alta Vista Golf and Country Club has a golf course that is a short but challenging mountain course of 6,100 yards. The course is famous for its rolling terrain, narrow fairways, strong winds and the water hazards. The ratings are 69.5 from the yellow tee and 69 from the blue tee. Golf enthusiasts and visitors will also enjoy the breathtaking view of the islands of Mactan and Bohol and the Mactan Bay from the course.

The golf club’s facilities include a driving range and putting green, tee houses, a professional gear sports shop, male and female changing rooms, restaurant and several bars, a lounge, a function room, and a children’s playground. Other facilities are a ballroom and audiovisual room, covered tennis and basketball courts, tenpin bowling alley, swimming pools, fitness gym, and a Jacuzzi and sauna.

Location and Contact Information

The Alta Vista Golf and Country Club is located on Aznar Road, Pardo Hills, Cebu City. The golf club is about 30 minutes ride by taxicab from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Mactan Island and about eight kilometers from the downtown area of Cebu City. The club is generally accessible by taxicabs or rent-a-car if you come from the airport or your hotel.

    Deplorable service and behavior:

    The day before our wedding my fiancee and I spoke with Kristine of the Food & Beverage office. We were told that three cases of San Miguel Light beer would be made available to my father-in-law at 30 pesos per beer.

    During my wedding reception I was presented with a bill for 72 beers at 40 pesos each. I asked for the bill to be corrected to the promised price. Kristine admitted that the promised price was 30 pesos each, but stated that there would be a 5 pesos per bottle opening fee. I said, “Fine, fix the bill and I will pay it.” She looked puzzled at how to do the calculations so I told her I would be inside the reception and to get me when she had fixed the bill.

    I came back out of the ballroom several minutes later to see what was taking so long. She and several members of your staff had cornered the bride and were explaining to her why the bill was now 40 pesos per bottle.

    I was absolutely appalled by the fact that we were lied to TWICE! Then with the lack of consideration on our wedding night by arguing with us over a few hundred pesos. I finally paid the higher price so that Kristine and her supervisor would stop harrassing my new family on our special day.

    I was also displeased by the fact that after informing Kristine of my shellfish allergy the first entree I was served on my wedding night and after spending over 58,000 pesos was SHRIMP! I could have died in front of all my guests if my new wife hadn’t noticed.

    I will not forgive the greed, lies, theft, and just plain abusive treatment that my family and I suffered on our special day.

    Alta Vista is a good golf course in Cebu, Philippines. The terrain is challenging due to the hillside location. Worth the visit, which is a short taxi ride from Cebu City.
