Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort

Founded in 1997, Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort is the island’s first dive shop and its only complete dive resort. It is also the only resort with a five star distinction from the National Geographic Instructor Development Center (IDC).

The island of Malapascua is part of Barangay Logon, in the Municipality of Daanbantayan. It is located in the northern tip of the province of Cebu, Philippines. It is a very small island and consists of eight hamlets. The island is popular as a diving destination because of its magnificent coral gardens and significant number of outstanding dive spots, such as Gato Island, Kemod Shoal and Monad Shoal.

Guests who want to stay at the resort can choose from four room types, all of which are well-maintained. Each room has a private bath and a balcony. There are 8 super deluxe air-conditioned rooms, which can accommodate up to four persons. It has a hot shower, a satellite TV, a mini bar, and a fridge. There are 15 deluxe air-conditioned rooms, two standard air-conditioned rooms and four standard fan rooms, which can each accommodate two persons.

The resort’s Sea View bar and restaurant serves fruit shakes, draft beer, and exotic special cocktails. The international restaurant has an extensive range of dishes from salads to sandwiches, from Filipino to international cuisines. The breakfast menu, which is popular among guests, serves homemade pancakes and freshly-baked croissants. It also has a coffee corner, which offers freshly brewed coffee acclaimed to be the best in the island. During the peak season, the resort serves weekly buffets.

The resort offers best value for money as it promises to give the most comprehensive diving lessons and fun courses from the most qualified diving instructors. Local dive guides are also available for truly pleasurable dive tours. It offers a full range of  courses. Depending on your level, you can enroll in either a beginner discover scuba diving lesson or in an experienced advanced diver course. It also offers a number of specialty courses, including an exclusive PADI Thresher Shark Specialty course. Dive packages include breakfast.
