Islands Stay Hotel
The chain of Islands Stay Hotels is the latest addition to the Islands Group’s growing travel-centered portfolio. Part of the Islands Group’s five-year vision to boost our country’s tourism, the hotel chain is modeled after the Japanese concept of no-frills accommodations.
Believing that location is key, the group has created the first two Islands Stay Hotels at ideal spots that would cater to the modern-day traveler: Tojong Street corner Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City and M.L. Quezon Avenue, Lapu-Lapu City. Both are strategically located near major business and entertainment centers and popular restaurants and malls are within walking distance. The central locations of the hotels allow the independent-minded tourist to easily move around.
The Islands Group is known for its value-motivated retail experience with Island Souvenirs and all its brands. In fact, it has won the PRA Hall of Fame award. It translates this idea into Islands Stay, providing all its guests with only the best services. It has interestingly labeled its rooms S, M, L, and XL, which accentuates user-friendliness from the time guests book their rooms until they check out. All comfortable rooms are well-equipped with quality beds and linens, flat screen televisions and free wireless broadband access.
The design of the hotel has the same fun theme with other Islands brands, which are spin-offs of Island Souvenirs. Islands brands are known for their perky designs that aim to tell a story about a certain destination. The colors are bright and modern, providing the hotel a laid-back atmosphere. The company would like its extensive database of customers to realize that they need not spend a lot to be able to stay at a beautiful hotel.
The Small Room is perfect for one guest. They call it a no-fuss, no-frills room perfect for individuals on the go. The Medium Room has a double bed and more space to allow one person to move around. The Large Room, which is good for two persons has two double beds and offers more legroom. The Extra Large Room is the biggest accommodation good for two persons. Aside from two double beds, it has an additional sitting area. Extra persons will be charged Php300 upon check-in. Children 10 years old and below are free of charge.
The Islands Stay Hotel room rates are as follows:
Type of Room Cebu City Lapu-Lapu
S Php950 Php850
M Php1,450 Php1,450
L Php1,950 Php1,650
XL Php2,150 Php2,150

More Islands Stay rooms are set to open in Cebu. The company is already ironing out their plans to expand its accommodations service to Palawan and Baguio.

The Islands Group was founded by Cebu native Jonathan Jay Aldeguer in 1992. The history of the company goes back to the humble beginnings of Islands Souvenirs, a brand that has conquered the whole Philippines. It gave a fresh take on cottage-industry souvenir products, making souvenir shopping more fun with its premium quality items. Using the same winning formula that enabled Island Souvenirs to reach more than 100 outlets in the Philippines, Islands Group has successfully ventured into the travel business.
The Islands Group aims to make travelling in the Philippines a memorable and wonderful experience. With the country’s booming tourism industry, the Islands Group has also experienced unparalleled growth, being able to launch exciting new concepts. It has expanded to other subsidiaries nationwide, with various pioneering components in retail, hospitality, tours, adventure, media, and design.
They attribute their success to “plain and simple passion for service, understanding what the market needs, and drive to deliver great value.” They believe that these traits give them their competitive edge in the tourism industry. The multi-awarded brand started with the conception of Islands Banca Cruises, which assures customers a professionalized and hassle-free island-hopping experience. The high demand has prompted the team to add more boats to its fleet. The Islands Group is currently busy with Islands Stay Hotels, aiming to be one of the best in this field.
The brand that started with just one souvenir shop in Cebu has become one of the most successful companies in the country.
