The world-renowned Sinulog celebration turns 30 this January 2010.

As early as January 2009, plans for the upcoming festivities have been in the works to come up with a more elaborate Sinulog Pearl Jubilee celebration.  Accordingly, a P12.5 million budget has been set aside by the Cebu City government for the Sinulog celebration this January 2010.

Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama, who is also the over-all chairman of the Sinulog Foundation Inc., divulged plans of a more impressive finale, which includes using a rotating stage using hydraulics.  Famous Cebuano performing artists are expected to grace the grandiose Sinulog 2010 finale.

Indeed, the celebration is expected to become bigger, better and more vibrant.

A schedule has already been released by the Sinulog Foundation. According to the timetable, the Sinulog Street Fair at Osmeña Blvd. will be ongoing from December 1 through January 31, 2010. The opening salvo will be on January 7, 2010, and the formal launching parade will be held the day after, January 8, 2010.

The schedule was released ahead of time to be of assistance to tourists and balikbayans who intend to book hotels and plane tickets for the said event.
