An exhibit entitled “View Cebu” will be held from July 15 until July 25, 2011, at SM City Cebu’s Northwing Atrium.
The event is in celebration of Cebu City earning recognition as an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) City of Culture, which is a title bestowed as a recognition of the city’s creative industries. The title “ASEAN City of Culture” proves that Cebu is not just a favorite tourist destination but also as an important center for the preservation and promotion of design, arts and culture in Southeast Asia.
SM City Cebu is acting as the event’s host. It is organized in partnership with the Cebu City Government and the Department of Trade and Industry, and is supported by Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu and Islands Souvenirs.
The event will feature the works of Cebu’s finest, specifically Cary Santiago, Philip Rodriguez, Accessoria Inc., Arden Classic Inc., APY Cane Inc., Binibini by Janice MInor, Classical Geometry Export Trading, Catalina Embroideries Inc., Debbie Palao, Nature’s Legacy Eximport Inc., Italkarat 18, Obra Cebuana Inc., Stonesets International Inc., and Pacific Traders & Manufacturing Corp.
Kenneth Cobonpue’s creative works will be on exhibit at the hotel lobby of Radisson Blu Cebu.
“Kasadya sa Sugbo” is one of the highlights of the July 15 opening. The cultural presentation will be presented by the Cebu City Tourism Commission and will feature songs and cultural dances by the region’s top performers. It will be held at 5 p.m., at SM City Cebu’s North Covered Parking.
