It was November 8 last year when the students and faculty of Purgason Primary School and Looc Primary School thought that Yolanda left them with nothing but debris. Along with the storm surge that destroyed their classrooms, the hope for a bright academic future for these two schools drifted away.
But the affected schools and households in Sitio Looc and Purgason in Barangay Maya, Daanbantayan needed not to worry for a long time for aid immediately came like a knight in shining armor. Last May 2014, executives from Bosch, leading global supplier of technology and services, visited this northern Cebu province to check its status and plan a rehabilitation project that will not only help the pupils of the highly affected schools but also the families who lost their homes and properties during the strong typhoon last year.
Bosch partnered with Habitat for Humanity Philippines and launched Tindog Pilipinas, a noble project that would then make their visions of new classrooms and houses come to life within 2014-2015; and last November 4, 4 days before the 1st anniversary of the destruction of Yolanda in the Visayas including Northern Cebu, two fully painted classrooms and a functional library were officially turned over to Purgason and Looc Primary Schools.
