The business is now operating under the name Tanduay Distillers Inc.
Tanduay is proud to say that its guiding principle is to provide its customers the best possible products at inexpensive prices. Its products are made by Filipinos using only the best Philippine-grown sugar cane. According to the company, Tanduay, as the spirits choice of Filipinos, “represents the nation’s true characteristics as a people. These include the spirit of honor and tradition; the spirit of bravery, resiliency and dedication; and the core trait of respect for elders and family values. These characteristics have made Tanduay what it stands for today.”
In the coming years, the company plans to further bring Tanduay “to the rest of the world so that they may truly know the Filipino culture and the Filipinos’ life-long commitment to product excellence.”
Tanduay has always vowed to support the Filipino music industry. It considers itself as an ambassador of Original Pinoy Music (OPM) through its First Five Tour (T5) and Rhumfest. The bands they feature serve as an inspiration for future artists so that they will continue to hone their skills and always aspire to be the best in their particular fields.
Already on its fourth year, the T5 2012 is still ongoing. The five top rock acts this year are Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Wolfgang, Urbandub, and Rico Blanco. The tour that started in Legaspi on March 30 will end on December 1 in Bacolod. The T5 venues this year are Naga, Boracay, Dumaguete, Bataan, Bulacan, Calbayog, Tacloban, Lucena, Kalibo, Iloilo,Santiago, Vigan, La Union, Baguio, CDO, Digos, Gensan, Surigao, and Pagadian.
When the 2012 T5 schedule was posted, a lot of Cebuanos and Davaoeños were disappointed that their beloved provinces were not included on the tour. Little did they know that Tanduay planned something bigger for them. Instead of witnessing only five rock acts, they will be welcoming more than a dozen.
