
Parkmall launched its “Mandaue: Yesterday and Today Exhibit” last August 25, 2014 (Monday) at the ground floor of their West Lobby.
The exhibit is to introduce the history and culture of Mandaue not just to Mandauehanons but also to the rest of the Cebuanos as well as to celebrate the 45th Mandaue City Charter Anniversary. Special guests graced the exhibit’s opening, and these include Hon. Demetrio Cortes (Mandaue City Councilor), Hon. Dadie Suico (Mandaue City Councilor), Mr. Jerry Roa (President of Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Ms Loeulla Cabanero (Mandaue City Tourism), Ms Lou Dominique Piczon (Ms Mandaue 2014), and Ms Edita Cortes (President of Mother Butlers Mission Guild).
There was a ribbon cutting, and then cocktail dishes were served, while some mellow music was being played live by a young talented pianist. Here are some of the things that can be seen on the exhibit:
The booths of masareal, bibingka, and other Mandaue delicacies are also in preparation of the Bibingkahan and Masareal Festival that will take place this Thursday, August 28. Other Parkmall events related to Mandaue City’s 45th Charter Day are as follows:
OPENING OF SCIENCE WORKS!
The Philippine Science Centrum also chose Parkmall as the venue for their Science Works! Exhibit featuring some of the awesome Science inventions. The opening of the exhibit at the mall’s 2nd level was again attended by some special guests, including Neal Carlson Go, the General Manager of Parkmall, and students from the Advanced Institute of Technology and Pope John Paul II Achievement and Learning Center. Aside from the countdown and balloon popping, an awarding of Science tokens took place to recognize the event’s partner agencies, namely, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education, and Parkmall.
Philippine Science Centrum’s Science Works! Exhibit runs until October 10, and people of all ages can come here with an entrance fee of 50 pesos per head only. Here are some of the cool things you’ll see there:

the Anti-Gravity Mirror… no he’s not floating, he’s simply moving one side of his body to create a floating illusion on the mirror

Head on a Platter – the table that makes you look body-less when the truth is it’s just installed with mirrors that reflect the checkered floor and the blue walls, making the rest of the body look invisible at the front
