Recycled Carton Sculpture Competition. Parkmall’s Art in the Park.

ART IN THE PARK

Calling all artistic high school students! Here’s a chance for you to showcase your creativity while helping the environment. Do you have stacks of cartons or boxes just lying around your house? It’s time to collect and put them into good use. Join Parkmall’s “Art in the Park: Recycled Carton Sculpture Competition” on September 15, 2010. Win as much as P5,000.00 with certificate for your work of art.

The competition is open to groups of interested high school students from any private or public school regardless of year level. Each participating group should have three (3) members, and each school is not limited to one participating group. Each participating group must create a sculpture depicting animals at play using recycled carton/ freight box / balikbayan boxes as base material. Entries may be painted, varnished or left as raw-finished. Supporting materials such as newspaper, boards and wood may be used as long as they are biodegradable and in recycling condition, and should not be more than 20% of the whole composition.

To join, submit an accomplished registration form and scanned copy or photocopy of school ID’s. Requirements may be submitted at Parkmall Customer Service everyday from 10:00am-9:00pm or via online at [email protected]. The deadline of registration is on September 13, 2010.

This event is in line with Parkmall’s commitment to be an eco-friendly mall.  Their environmental efforts include roof insulation, which helps save 255 tons of refrigeration with the roof and the use of water cooled chiller. The mall has also installed waterless urinals and has its very own sewage treatment plant, which cleans its wastewater before it is released into the environment. Parkmall is proud to have pioneered the variable speed escalator, which slows down automatically once foot traffic is absent.

Support Parkmall’s environmental causes and join “Art in the Park.”  For the complete mechanics, visit http://parkmallph.com.
