Some people live to party, and some people live for October. Who could blame them? October means OctoberFest and during this time, some of the best parties are given. So read on to know where you and your friends should be on the following dates:
One Mango Avenue
When it comes to beer, there is only one name that fits the bill: San Miguel Beer. Although there are many brands out there, San Miguel is that one name that tops it all. This brings to reason that on OctoberFest, San Miguel tops all parties as well. As usual, non-stop music, beer shower, and all night party will be happening in the Queen City of the South at One Mango Avenue. Entrance fee is Php300 and make sure you enjoy the freebies that come with your fee. Then again, who cares what you can guzzle for this evening, right? It is all about enjoying the night, taking pleasure in great music, and having the chance to increase your Facebook friends.
At the same time, our very own malls, too, have their own ‘OctoberFestivities’ as follows:
SM City Cebu
On October 18, SM City Cebu attempts to hold the largest Zumba class which will commence at 3:00 pm at the North parking area. India currently holds the record of the largest Zumba participants with 6,671 partakers, so let’s try to beat their record! Registration is at the Sports Zone. The earlier you register, the better the fees:
- Php100.00 – until October 17
- Php150.00 – on the event itself
- Php100.00 – students with ID
- Php250.00 – the singlet “Break the Record”
Call 0923 1019518 or 0923 7704113 for any inquiries.
Parkmall joins the OctoberFestivities with its own Zombie run, which they call “#HyperHalloween Zombie Run”. Happening on Oct 25 at 4:00 pm, Parkmall’s parking area will definitely be alive, not to mention put a dent on the traffic on the North Reclamation Area, as JCI sponsors this fun run with a twist. Zombies and zombie-look-alike will make this run more enticing with 5 obstacles as you run for your life, and finish your chosen distance. More details at https://www.facebook/events/854729891215288.
On the other side of the island, Magellan’s Cross will hold its own event for photographers and photographer-wanna-be as Scott Kelby sponsors the largest worldwide photowalk happening in Cebu City. Starting at 6:00 am until 11:30 am, all participants will be converging together and probably just walk all the way to Larsian’s, which is where the group would want to meet afterwards. While the walk itself is free, the group is looking at being able to raise money for Kenya’s orphanage, Springs of Hope. It’ll cost US$1, but probably converting it to Philippine peso, would probably just cost you around Php50.00. Wouldn’t this be an enticing walk as you join fellow photographers and walk the streets of LapuLapu and take pictures? You may visit their FB page for more details.
Another busy and bustling hotel that boasts of many interesting activities is Club Ultima. On the 25th of October, Club Ultima sponsors their own Trick or Treat. Happening at Vivo Playroom on the 18th floor, registration will start at 1:30 pm, so make sure your little tots come in their scariest costumes or most charming prince and princesses. Not only will there be lots of treats for the kiddos, there will be a few Bird Shows, 6D theater show plus unlimited use of the Vivo Playroom. Don’t forget to bring socks for the playroom and long sleeves. The event will end at 6:00 pm. Adults and kids alike will definitely enjoy this event.
