It’s that one day in the year when you can bring all that I-love-the-Philippines swag without people looking at you like you’re some kind of nut. The parade starts at 1:00 pm at Fuente Osmeña. Study the route and make sure you know how to get there, since several roads and jeepney routes will be affected.

Is fashion your passion? Mix it with Filipino pride and enjoy the exhibit of our different national costumes, with a unique locally-designed twist. Featuring the creations of celebrated Cebuano designers, Cary Santiago, Philip Rodriguez, Philipp Tampus, Lord Maturan, Mel Maria & Hans Coquilla. The exhibit was launched last Monday, June 8, and will end this Friday at the Northwing Atrium, SM City Cebu.

Get that blood pumping, ready to attack Independence Day with that rockin’ bod! The Cebu City government is having a fun run to fund the construction of a new building for the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC). Run for a cause and register now! You may also register on the day of the run, so no worries.

June is also LGBT Pride Month so let’s all celebrate freedom in all forms! LGBT-themed films will be screened at the 2nd floor of Handuraw Pizza, Gorordo Avenue every Monday at 7PM. Music has always played a great role in culture and history, what better way to celebrate independence than to support our local talents! Musika Cebu will be featuring homegrown bands and artists, namely Wonggoys, Jerika Teodorico, Three Legged Men, Silingan ni Felicity, and Lourdes Maglinte. Everyone, ears up! The gigs will be at Koa Tree House, Lahug from 8PM until midnight. Best of all, entrance is FREE!
