From the grand opening of a unique entertainment area to rainbow-colored fun run to a music video launching to a literary fest to live sports viewing, you’re pretty much covered for an amazing weekend ahead.
1.) La Bodega’s Grand Opening!
Want to know what’s the newest place to check out? La Bodega sets itself apart from restobars and clubs by giving more than the usual “Live Bands & DJs, Beer Pong, Darts and bar games.” They also “offer day lessons in music, art, dance, Yoga, fitness classes, skate boarding, rock climbing and eco-adventures and more.” They also support their local community’s “Go Green Program” and offer eco-adventures that involve activities like reef restoration and camping. 2.) Plug and Play: Acoustic Night
Start your weekend chilling at Handuraw Pizza’s Kasambagan branch. Enjoy the company of your friends with cold beer, great pizza, and the relaxing tunes of Enard and Shaheen and the Gang at everyone’s favorite hangout. Remember, NO ENTRANCE FEE! 1.) Hue Run the World
Hue Run the World? You will be if you join the most colorful fun run! Start your day with color. Nothing starts a morning better than running through powdered rainbows. The race starts at 4:00 AM. Assembly is at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus soccer field. There’s a 3K run for a fee of P350, a 5K run for P400 and a 10K run for P450. Racing kit includes a singlet, race bib, snacks and certificates. Check their page for the course route.
2.) Issues: The Music Video Launch
Up-and-coming songwriter Jid Durano will be releasing his latest single, “Issues” at 7:00 PM at The Monastery. Joining him will be “Matt Lubid of ATO NI VINES, Neverending Weekend, David Cua, THE LINE DIVIDES and more.” You can purchase the tickets for P150 at TUF barbershop, Alliance Francaise de Cebu, The Monastery and Urban Superior Store, inclusive of 1 free drink. 3.) Poetry Nights: Agusto – A Month of Wants
Handuraw Pizza describes this event aptly. “All those guilty pleasures you deny yourself of – repress them no more! August is the month of wants. Let your inner desires get the best of you.” Head on over to the Handuraw Events Café on the 2nd floor of their Gorordo branch at 460 Gorordo Ave., Brgy. Kamputhaw, Cebu City. Let your inner booklover indulge! The Same Page Literary Festival starts today at Parkmall, located along Ouano Avenue in Mandaue City. The Festival will be holding a book cosplay, a writing contest, booksigning by author and inspirational speaker, Marcelo Santos III, and many other booths and activities that will send you on a literary overload!
