Gold’s Gym Cebu holds its first ever run on November 18, 2012. Assembly for the run, which is called Gold’s Rush 2012, is at J Centre Mall on A. S. Fortuna Street, Mandaue City, and the assembly time is at 4:30 a.m. Gold’s Gym Cebu actually has an internal group of running enthusiasts known as Gold’s Running Club or GRC, and the members of the group participate as much as they can in the running events staged here in Cebu and other parts of the country.
The upcoming Gold’s Rush 2012 has three race categories. Their corresponding assembly times followed by the gun-start times are
16k – 4:00 a.m. – 4:30 a.m.
6k – 4:15 a.m. – 4:45 a.m.
3k – 4:45 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Below are the registration amounts for each category:
3k open category – Php 250
6k open category – Php 300
16k open category – Php 400
The entry fee is nonrefundable, nontransferable, non-upgradable, and non-downgradable. It is, however, inclusive of singlet, race bib, race information, and refreshments. No return and no exchange of race kits after claiming from registration areas will be allowed. The singlet, by the way, looks like this:

The registration forms are available at the front desk of Gold’s Gym Cebu. Through the Gold’s Gym Facebook fan page, the organizer released the following important information about the upcoming run:
Rules and regulations
a. All participants below 18 years old must have their entry forms signed by a parent/guardian.
b. All race bibs must be worn at all times during the race. The race bib should be pinned in front of your running shirt/singlet.
c. All protest related to the results must be made in writing and submitted to the Race Organizer within 30 minutes after the official announcement of winners. A protest fee of Php1,500 will be collected for every written protest made during the event/race.
d. The organizer’s and Judges’ decision shall be final.
e. The spirit of friendly competition should apply throughout the race. Organizers have the right to refuse any entry of participants who display any non-sportsmanlike conduct and have a tendency to violate and have violated rules and regulations in past races.
f. No race bib, No entry. BANDITS ARE NOT ALLOWED. No form of locomotion other than running or walking is allowed. No individual support vehicles are allowed.
g. Transferring or exchanging race bib numbers is not allowed. Winning participants found to have violated this rule shall be disqualified and he/she must surrender any prize winnings to the race organizer.
Distribution of singlets and race kits
Participants may claim their race kits (containing the official race number, route map, and singlet) at Gold’s Gym from November 12 to 16, 2012. Last day of registration is on November 16, 2012 (Gold’s Gym). There will be no distribution of race kits during race day.
Drinking water will be available at strategic locations of the route and at the START/FINISH.
A baggage deposit service is available near the START/FINISH and will be open from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. only. We will not be responsible for any lost items and please do not leave any valuables items inside the bags.
Medical emergency personnel are available at the START/FINISH line. A roving ambulance is also available.
All participants and other spectators are required to park their vehicles at the allocated parking area of J Centre Mall.
Restrooms are available for use at the venue, for both male and female.
Sports massage / kinesiology taping (Rock Tape)
Gold’s Gym Cebu will be offering sports massage and taping for a promotional price.
For those who aren’t familiar with it yet, kinesiology taping uses the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement. It can be used to treat Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, jumper’s knee, issues with the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or medial collateral ligament (MCL), rotator cuff issues, lower back issues, tracking issues in knees/shoulders/elbows, groin and hamstring pulls, shin splints, golf or tennis elbow, and posture problems (including those associated with pregnancy).
