The Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) aims to be able to raise funds to build new classrooms in Olango Island through the annual open water swimming competition dubbed as the Olango Challenge. On its 6th year, the event will be on May 11, 2013, at the Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu.
By organizing this event, the PBSP fully supports the campaign of the Bayanihang Pampaaralan (BP), which is an initiative led by the private sector. BP aims to have 10,000 new classrooms built in Olango to help reduce the massive classroom deficit in the country. In addition, the first and possibly only open water swimming competition in the Philippines is organized in order to raise awareness on the magnitude of drowning in our country.[nggallery id=57]
