Looking for a new and quick getaway just outside of Cebu? There’s The Bellevue Resort. This recipient of the Traveller’s Choice Award in 2014 and Certificate of Excellence for 2015 from tripadvisor, a top online travel site, is located on Panglao Island, Bohol. Lisa Hungerford sent us her experience of this luxurious hotel.
I was lucky enough to enjoy a weekend at the Bellevue recently and was truly impressed by the welcoming staff, the beautiful resort and the wonderful activities that they have on offer. This is a resort that lives up to it’s slogan- The Luxury of Sanctuary.
The bellevue opened in 2012 and no expense was spared when creating it. Even the standard rooms are quite spacious, with the most comfortable of couches and a good-sized private balcony. The resort has been designed to maximize the magnificent views of the ocean and 250m private beach front. Sharing a champagne in the jacuzzi in the presidential suite overlooking the beautiful sea would be a memory you would cherish for a lifetime.
For something soothing, I would highly recommend taking a dip in the beautiful infinity pool followed by a visit to the Azurea Spa. Each room in the spa has its own toilet and shower for your convenience and the massage is second to none – i had never felt more relaxed!
If you’re looking to get your heart racing, the resort offers a range of water activities just offshore their 250m fine, white sand beach. Experience the thrill of windsurfing or try your hand at standing boarding. We grabbed the chance to try it out. I don’t want to say much about how my brother Jason fared but it was definitely a lot of fun! To keep the kids entertained while the adults have their own fun, the hotel made sure games room and children’s area complete with table tennis, basketball hoops, a full car computer car racing set up, board games, craft activities and a fantastic children play space. Your kids surely won’t mind the time you’ll be spending getting a massage and trying your hand at windsurfing.
When it comes to the food at our vacation, the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner were the star but if you’re looking for something else, they have 2 other restaurants and a sports bar that offer their own tasty dishes.
Immerse yourself in the interesting island of Bohol with tours organized by the friendly resort staff. The most famous tourist attraction in Bohol is the Chocolate Hills. We got the chance to see a rare view – almost two thousand cone-shaped hills spread over an expanse of more than 50 km that can be seen from Carmen Town and Sagbayan Peak. The most memorable part for me though was the Tarsier Sanctuary where the adorable tarsiers live. The tarsiers are one of the smallest known primates and are incredibly cute. It’s amazing to see the animal in its natural habitat.
The Bellevue Resort is definitely a must-see destination. Would I go there a second time? I definitely would.
